About the Author

Horse ShowI am an avid animal lover. Horses, dogs, cats, you name it. I seem to be a magnet to children and animals. I am very easy going and even tempered for the most part. I value my friendships with a reverence. I do not call someone a “friend” lightly but if you are one of my friends, I am loyal to a fault. You can count on me. I enjoy sharing my world with others who can only visit the farm and experience the wonders of nature and animals in small doses. I have no interest in the city life or the hustle and bustle that goes along with it. I like the country, views of the mountains, small towns, a few good friends, time with the family-especially the grand-kids, a good book, gardening, baking from scratch, being able to let my dogs run free, sharing a good bottle of wine with interesting conversation and soft, jazzy music and regular segments of quiet, down time. I like to watch easy light-hearted movies and practice yoga occasionally. My husband swears I was born missing the fear gene where my horses are concerned. I take chances and can laugh at myself when I make mistakes. I may be a touch on the shy or introverted side at times.

I currently own and operate a horse farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia with myhusband, Byron. I own horses of my own, boards horses for others, and share the equine experience with horse-lovers of all ages in unique camps, lessons, and visits. 1. Hello Barbara,
you are envied by many girls who would love to own one horse never mind several. I always loved horses since a kid, but didn’t have much chance to be around them. I am writing a novel – a romance with cowboys in it. I really need your help with writing about horses, please. my blog is insidewriting.wordpress. thank your for your help.nicole

  2. I have been asked to participate in a blog tour. It is a pretty simple one that asks you to answer 4 questions and recommend three bloggers. Would you be interested in being one of my three? The current theme seems to be women writers rehabilitating horses and your blog is perfect for that!
If not, please send me a quick no so I can ask somebody else.
